Ford pauses recall fix, leaving 2015-2017 F-150 owners in limbo — Rome Technology news

What you’ll learn in this report:Why 1.39M F-150s can suddenly downshift and lock up.Why the fix for Mark’s truck is on pause with no timeline. How to check if your Ford qualifies — and get a loaner.ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Ford recall has left one local driver without his truck and no timeline for getting it back. Mark Christoferson said his red 2015 Ford F-150 suddenly malfunctioned about four weeks ago as he was leaving a grocery store. The truck has been stuck at a Ford dealership in Bremen ever since. “We went grocery shopping, and when we were leaving the grocery store, the truck started acting up,” Christoferson said. He tried shutting off the ignition. He disconnected and reconnected the battery, hoping that would work. It didn’t. What the recall covers Christoferson’s truck is one of 1.39 million vehicles covered under Ford recall number 26S28. In April 2026, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) acknowledged Ford’s recall for 2015-2017 F-150s.
